Hi bookaholics! I have a question for you- do you remember my first OwlCrate unboxing? Wayyy back in April? Well, I said (back in April) I would try to do more unboxings and here I am, doing another one! This is a great box (but my last one :,)) and I can't wait to share it.
Note: MAJOR SPOILERS for this box! Also, my unboxing is not sponsored by OwlCrate. The links I attached in this post are for my own pleasure. I just really like OwlCrate and the chosen shops this month. Thanks & enjoy!
The first thing I saw was this greeting card! I really like the postcard style; it fits perfectly with the "Wanderlust" theme. And, on the back side of the card, it lists all the items and shops.
I squealed when I saw this little Funko Pop. Basically: "NEWT!! MY SWEET BOY!!" Newt, who is the main lead in Fantastic Beasts, came as a small keychain. He's so cute and great quality.
AND THEN I STARTED TO (quietly) SCREAM. I loVE anything Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit. So getting this backpack was amazing. Can you believe this is the only Lord of the Rings merch I own?! Crazy, I know. Anyway! This bag is super cool and it's an exclusive item from OwlCrate.
Then I found this small button from OwlCrate! It definitely captures that travel vibe with the plane and palm trees. Now, I'm not sure what to wear it for but it's still really nice.
Oh my gosh - look at this gorgeous pocket mirror. The design is from Miss Phi and I love it! This specific quote (it means 'To Travel') is from A Darker Shade of Magic (my fave!!). But the design is exclusively for Owlcrate.
I then spotted this small pocket journal. OwlCrate sent out 8 different journal covers; I got the one with city buildings. This journal is from Ooly and their stuff looks awesome!
You gotta have a bag tag when you travel - right? This adorable owl (!!!) luggage tag came from Mudpuppy. I can't wait to use this bag tag the next time I travel.
This was the last item I picked up before I saw the chosen book this month. This beautiful (exclusive) print was designed by Shailey Ann Designs. The quote is from Francois Rabelais but inspired by Looking for Alaska. Such a cool combo!
And finally: the book this month is The Gentlemans Guide to Vice and Virtue! I'm thrilled to own this hardcover book; TGGTVAV has been on my tbr since it's publishing date. Although, I am less thrilled about the orange and blue exclusive cover (I like the idea of exclusive covers but I'm not enjoying this one in particular). But I also got a colorful letter, signed bookplate, and a TGGTVAV map from the author. I can't wait to read this book!
All in all, this is an awesome box. I was actually hesitant about this July box because I'm not one to travel a lot, but it was great. I loved the merch, the book and that gorgeous pocket mirror. I just can't believe this is my last OwlCrate box. :,) But if you're interested in subscribing to OwlCrate or you're already subscribed then you'll be getting the August box very soon! The theme for the August box is "Something Wicked This Way Comes". Here's the link if you're interested.
Happy Saturday bookaholics! Now, tell me, are subscription boxes your thing? Have you read The Gentlemans Guide to Vice and Virtue? Funko Pops: yes please! or no thanks. Let's chat about it!
Oh my goodness, this is such a cool box!! And you could always attach the pin to a bag or something:)
ReplyDeleteI know right?! Ooo good idea - thanks!
DeleteOooh that Newt key chain is so cute. I have a Tenth Doctor one. And I love that journal. I'm a big stationery/journal person. I've never gotten an owl crate or any box like that before, but they look so fun. Why is this your last box? I like these posts 😊
ReplyDeleteI love him. <3 Nice! They are- I really enjoy subscription boxes. Ohh because my subscription is over. :,)
